Emergency/Trauma Travel Registered Nurse Job

As an Emergency Room nurse you will be responsible for assessing, intervening, and stabilizing a variety of trauma and illness with decisive actions.  You are on the frontier in critical care solutions, providing early amounts and treatment to patients with serious injury and illness.  Your skills are invaluable as they require urgent care providing an important lifeline between patients and their families.  Working closely with Physicians your skills must be knowledgeable and above general as well as specific health issues. 

Emergency/Trauma Travel Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in specified state
  • Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program
  • At least 2 years of ER experience
  • Level I Trauma Exp
  • BLS, AHA ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC or ATCN

Emergency/Trauma Travel Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the care of adult and/or pediatric patients experiencing life-threatening problems requiring complex assessment, high intensity therapies and interventions

  • Travel nurse job activities match staff nurse responsibilities and include:

    • Close communication with all members of the healthcare team, as well as the ability to independently recognize the need for early intervention

    • Time management is crucial in this job. Along with triage, emergency nurses must quickly ascertain the following information from incoming patients:

      • Identify the medical problem

      • Document medical history

      • Check for any allergies and current medications

      • Obtain height, weight, body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure

    • Other responsibilities include moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications and maintaining proper supplies of medical equipment

    • Monitoring the patient’s physical and emotional wellbeing
